What does this tailfin have to do with e-bikes? It's a part, it shouldn't be in this video.
As an e-bike owner I'm now looking out for what I'd consider to be a next generation model and in videos such as this find very little out there off-the-peg. I suppose I may end up having to alter a standard bike to be electric and suit my needs, which are –
1 – Lightness, sub 22kg
2 – Stealth, it shouldn't be obvious it's an electric bike
3 – Speed, better than 15mph motor assistance, as an off-road button of course 😉
4 – Gearing, a good quality derailleur, not a fixed gear!
5 – Good looks, something akin to a fast road/hybrid bike will fit the bill, not some monstrously fat-tired sand bike
6 – A nod to comfort on a road/commuter e-bike. Is it too much to ask for suspension in the form of lightweight road-use suspension forks that don't look like they've come off a downhill bike or good seat post suspension systems with an ergonomically comfy saddle to be offered on e-bikes? God knows how many bike promotion videos I've seen showing some person wafting along a boardwalk or on an ultra smooth pathway in a city scape, the real world is unfortunately often a pot holed/bumpy course in contrast to this!
7 – Not folding, tired of seeing countless fold-able e-bikes, sure they're handy for rail travellers and park and ride car users but there's simply too many start up projects coming out with them
All other matters are negligible really, lights for example can always be add-ons if it comes down to it as well as racks, mudguards(fenders) locks etc and personally I don't rate e-bikes by things that my smartphone can achieve with apps added when it comes to riding etc
yes I support all bikes
Great bikes, thanks…
