Great to see another Kiwi on here. I'm playing around with one of the original Cyclone kits (250-1680 watts) in my spare time at work. I work for a guy who started out by fitting Cyclone kits to bikes in his shed when he wasn't working. They're certainly not an elegant way to power a bike compared to the Bafang BBS motors, but they sure as hell beat almost everything else for price:performance, if you're not really doing it for the sake of riding it like a bicycle, and prefer to keep off the streets.
these LiPo are convenient and cheap but they have very poor longevity when it comes to charge cycles .. after around 50 cycles you'll notice a drop in performance.. I started my eBike journey using the 16Ah 6s Multistar so I speak from experience.. I ended up buying in a box of 120 LG HG2 18650 and made my own 15s 21Ah set up on the befange BBSHD £350 incl shipping and assembly. I don't use a BMS i just split the cells and charge them in a 3 battery set up.. much more efficient to lose the BMS.. (before anyone says ill blow up my BBSHD using 15s ! I use 14s to start and loop in the extra 1s when the 14s drops below 56v, which jumps the voltage back up to 60v at 15s .. its a sweet way to run as you have great voltage for a lot longer during discharge 😉 .. I'd recommend spending your money on LiIo 18650 not LiPo packs.) . Happy riding !
Thanks SO much My friend! I was able to identify what Luna shorted me when they sent me my kit.. Yes DOUBLE check your parts The little caps are for your crank mounting bolt covers. I have this Build also.. I am going 72volt with it on a 2005 Giant Trance (has a threaded Bottom Bracket).
These Cyclone motors are big badass monsters… I have the exactly same motor, the controller died quickly. The standard controller doesn't reeeeeally make use of all the power that you can get from this motor, higher voltage would make this badboy come to life at higher rpm… more POWEEEEEEEEEERR more fun.. ohh yeahhh
Don't know if you subscribe to "AmazingDIYprojects" or not, however his latest video may be of interest to you, all about charging multiple LiPos at the same time, here: https://youtu.be/2yG4nbLRG3k
e byke kit pe offer chalraha hai, limited priode offer, what's app no 7059200290
Itd be really neat if the gear system could work in tandem with the electric motor. Maybe with servos for switching or something. Imagine the speeeed
Bottom bracket crank arm nut caps
Some time later lol … ned a vid with buble wrap

Really looking forward to this series and your CNC build.
