Frame maker A-Pro Tech is now rebuilding its old headquarters plant as a modern No.2 Plant to produce high-grade suspension forks, with production scheduled to start in 2017. A-Pro’s old HQ plant was returned to the company in 2014 after having been leased to another company for many years. Production capacity at the present HQ plant is now too small and the firm has decided to transform the old plant into a complementary No.2 Plant. A-Pro’s new plant will be a building with four floors and one basement on a 6,500 square meter site. The headquarters plant will specialize in high-grade aluminum frames and the new second plant will be exclusively engaged in producing high grade suspension forks. A-Pro has divided the construction work into three stages, with investing a total of NT$ 500 million to make a state-of-the-art plant. Construction of the buildings and installation of production machines and equipment will be completed by the end of 2016, with production to start by the first half of 2017.

In China where the market is deteriorating, A-Pro will phase out and eventually shut down the Kunshan plant in March 2016 and move production to Shenzhen. The company also plans to set up a V i et n a m factory and start production in 2017. Production in Vietnam is also expected to benefit from the TPP (Trans-Pacific Partnership). Other future efforts will be focused on automation, optimizing Current production lines and process improvements.
