One of the reasons people buy scooters is because they are trendy and fun, considered by some to be one of the best kept secrets of commuting. With the wind in your hair and the sun beating down, what better way to get around?
Ease of handling makes scooters an attractive option. They are made from lightweight materials which are strong, durable and safe. This makes them easier to manoeuvre and park than a car. Because scooters are small, they can easily get ahead in traffic jams, weaving in and out of the cars. They are nippy and fast. Also, parking is not a problem, as they take up much less space than a car often saving you time and money. Scooters are small enough to be kept in a hallway overnight which increases security too.
The more expensive scooters are still much cheaper to buy and maintain than a car. Even on short journeys they are more economical to run. Whether you are using gas/ petrol scooters or an electric motor scooter, they use much less fuel than a car and a battery costs only pennies to recharge. Scooters are very reliable due to modern technology. They have a good safety record on the roads, making their insurance premiums lower than cars.
Scooters are good for the environment too. Even gas/ petrol scooters produce less carbon, use less energy and need fewer trips to the filling station than cars. An electric motor scooter is better still as it emits zero fumes into the atmosphere. In our modern society we are becoming more and more conscious of the damage we are doing to our world, so if you want to “go green”, then buy scooters!
Last, but not least, scooters give you a thrilling ride. It’s great to feel the air rushing by as you speed along. You also get a much better view than in a car. They can provide a wonderful sense of independence and freedom. There is a great choice of styles and colours – something to suit everyone’s taste. Both men and women look good on a scooter- it’s a cool way to get around. It’s also a great way to make new friends. Scooter clubs exist all over and welcome new members on board.
These are just some of the reasons why people buy scooters – I’m sure there are plenty more.
